Step 2: Creating A Glam Evening Look With Organic Make Up Artist Laura Sessions
Add a twist to your evening make-up with a look Inspired by one of this seasons catwalk favorites - the muted smokey eye. I love a Smokey eye and this is a soft smokey look that is totally wearable during the day as well as in the evening.
In an ideal world we would have the time to have a complete make-up change before going from work to play but that is often not the case. This make-up is designed to be applied to fresh, clean skin but it works equally well built up on top of your day make-up.
If you are starting from fresh then follow steps 1-3 as before, however if you are going out straight from work or don't have time to reapply then try the following to make your make-up look its best...
Use blotting sheets to remove excess oil from your skin (a clean tissue will suffice if you don't have any to hand). Touch up your base where necessary and powder but remember not to overdo it, as it will make your face look clogged and patchy. Use the Mineral Concealer on any blemishes and shadows.
Comb through your eyebrows with a brow brush or clean mascara wand and then define them using a matte eyeshadow, brow powder or pencil.
Tip: Strong brows are a key trend for this season, brushing your brows upwards will make them appear fuller.
Apply a small amount of Gold Mineral Eyeshadow to the inner third of the eyelid, then using a clean eyeshadow brush apply Bark Mineral Eyeshadow across the remaining two thirds of the eyelid, extending the shadow outwards. Using another clean brush (if you don't have one then remove as much of the shadow from the brush as possible onto a clean tissue) blend the shadow on the lid upwards (into the socket) and outwards in order to soften the outer edges. Blend the Gold shadow into the Bark carefully to avoid the colour fading too much.
Run the Bark shadow along the lower lash line and blend, smudging it as much as your dare, then carefully apply Brown Eyeliner Pencil to the water line and upper lash line. I applied
Give your lashes a bit of va-va-voom by lash curlers to open up the eye and then apply a couple of coats of Black Mascara. Finish by applying some false lashes. I used some half lashes in the outer corners of my eyes but big and bold strips or subtle individuals, its up to you - go for your life!
Tip: if you are usually a little messy in your eye make-up application then apply the eye make-up before any other product. Any fallout is easier to clean up with wipes or make-up remover.
Apply blusher as before remembering to keep it light. Keep the focus on the cheekbone rather than taking the colour too far onto the apple of the cheek.
Keeping the lips fairly nude once again, define the lips by applying the lipstick using a lip brush and blot well to ensure longevity.
